WALTER LARA
Please help stop the deportation of Walter Lara, a 23 year-old undocumented student who came to the United States from Argentina 20 years ago.
Walter has grown up in Florida. He graduated from high school as an honor student, and received an Associate Degrees in Computer Graphics from a community college. Walter’s dream is to become a graphic designer, but because Florida does not have an in-state-tuition law (yet) and because of his status, he has not been able to attend a four-year university.
On February 17, 2009, Walter was detained by ICE officials while he was heading to work. After being detained for 20 days, his family was able to bail him out. But not before Walter signed a voluntary departure. Walter is set to go back to a country he remembers nothing about by July 6th.
