In order to qualify for AB540, the students must have:
> attended a high school in California for three or more years. (student who need it,
may stay an extra year in high school in order to complete 3 years. Speak with a
counselor.)
> graduated from a California high school or received the equivalent of (GED).
> The student must be enrolled as a new or continuing student at a CSU, UC, or
Community College. For example, CSUN, UCLA, or SMC.
> File an affidavit with the public state college or university stating that he or she will
file an application to obtain legal permanent residency as soon as he or she is eligible.
